The 70-200mm f/4 G OSS II is engineered for the modern photographer and videographer. Its optical construction includes 19 elements in 13 groups, featuring advanced glass like Super ED, ED, and AA (Advanced Aspherical) elements to deliver razor-sharp resolution from corner to corner. The lens uses four XD (Extreme Dynamic) Linear Motors, providing 20% faster autofocus than the previous model and supporting high-speed tracking at up to 30fps—perfect for the Sony Alpha 1. This lens is specifically optimized for video, featuring Linear Response MF for natural manual focus and significantly reduced focus breathing. It also supports the breathing compensation function in compatible Alpha bodies. Despite its compact size, it is a professional tool with an array of tactile controls, including three customizable focus-hold buttons, a focus range limiter, and a de-click switch for the aperture. Built for the outdoors, it features dust and moisture resistance and a fluorine coating on the front element to repel water and oil.
